18 weeks

Baby is the size of a: Grapefruit

Gender: Countdown is at less than 2 weeks now!! 

Feeling: Not too bad aside from the indigestion every once in awhile.

Maternity clothes: Finally broke out my first pair of maternity jeans :) I have to keep pulling them up though so they don't fit right just yet but they are so much more comfortable!

Sleep: Not too bad! Having problems some nights with leg and hip pains but its bearable.
Best moment this week: Spending time with our extended family to celebrate Christmas which allowed for more celebrating of Baby S.
Worst moment this week: Nothing! Must be because of the holiday spirit I'm in ;)
Miss anything: Asiago and bleu cheese.. random I know but this time of year is all about the cheese platters and I have to be careful which is no fun! Same goes for wine.
Movement: I may have felt some but I'm not too sure.
Cravings: Just food in general, all the time haha.

Queasy or sick: Neither really.

Baby items I couldn't resist buying: I'm still patiently waiting to find out gender can you believe it?

Looking forward to: Christmas Eve and Christmas, I just love this time of year!
Next appointment: January 6th

17 weeks

Baby is the size of a: Sweet Potato

Gender: Almost only 3 more weeks till we know...getting anxious!

Feeling: Ok... stuffy nose, indigestion and headaches have been the name of the game this week.

Maternity clothes: Tops and leggings. Holding off for as long as I can on maternity jeans :)

Sleep: Great on the nights I don't have bad indigestion.
Best moment this week: Seeing family that we haven't seen in person yet since we announced that we were expecting.
Worst moment this week: Indigestion (can't you tell I'm sick of it already!)
Miss anything: Wine...the non-alcohol kind just isn't the same.
Movement: Patiently waiting.
Cravings: The usual, nothing new to add to the mix ;)
Queasy or sick: See above under feeling and worst moment ;) haha

Baby items I couldn't resist buying: Nothing this week... it was hard to walk away though!

Looking forward to: My brother coming into town next week. It will be great to have him around and celebrate the holidays (and the little peanut too!)
Next appointment: January 6th

16 weeks

 

Baby is the size of a: Navel Orange
Gender: We find out at our next appointment eeek!

Feeling: Great! Occasional heartburn/indigestion but not that often... so far ;)

Maternity clothes: Still mostly wearing my regular clothes and maternity leggings. I just love my maternity leggings!

Sleep: I have been having the strangest dreams that wake me up in the middle of the night but sleeping great besides that.
Best moment this week: Celebrating the holidays with friends, I love this time of year.
Worst moment this week: Not being able to enjoy festive holiday drinks :(
Miss anything: Subs, I've been wanting one for weeks!
Movement: Still waiting!
Cravings: Sweets and cereal.
Queasy or sick: Getting sick of having a stuffy nose.

Baby items I couldn't resist buying: A Christmas present from the baby to Daddy, I can't wait for him to see it!

Looking forward to: Our next appointment for the anatomical scan! I'm so happy we have the holidays to distract me from that countdown ;)
Next appointment: January 6th

15 weeks

 I'll be back to normal pictures soon!

Baby is the size of a: Avocado
Gender: 35 days until we find out!

Feeling: Great still.

Maternity clothes: A few, but mostly my pre-preggo clothes.

Sleep: Still doing okay with sleep...I do have 3 am and early morning hunger pains so those nights aren't fun.
Best moment this week: Putting up the Christmas tree and decorations, I can't wait to celebrate the holidays with our little one next year.
Worst moment this week: Missing out on Black Friday shopping. I get tired after that much walking around and this "indigestion after eating when pregnant" is serious stuff!
Miss anything: Adding liquor to my sprite ;)
Movement: Nothing but getting anxious.
Cravings: The usual stuff, nothing new this week.
Queasy or sick: Neither.

Baby items I couldn't resist buying: Still holding back, can you believe it? It was probably a good thing I didn't go Black Friday shopping :)

Looking forward to: This Thursday, our 16 week appointment.
Next appointment: December 5th

14 weeks

 

Baby is the size of a: Pear
Gender: Still anxiously waiting to find out. Two different gender prediction calendars have said boy which Kev was happy to hear ;)

Feeling: Great!
Maternity clothes: Still rockin the maternity leggings and belly band... any maternity shirts are just for fun right now.

Sleep: Not too bad, restless some nights.
Best moment this week: Bigger bump, I feel like I'm actually starting to look pregnant ;)
Worst moment this week: Having to resist the great holiday shopping deals because baby clothes are just the cutest!
Miss anything: Subs and soda.
Movement: Nothing yet!
Cravings: Hot chocolate with TONS of marshmallows
Queasy or sick: Nope, but I've noticed with the smell of chicken I get nausea.

Baby items I couldn't resist buying: Nothing recently, which I'm shocked.

Looking forward to: Thanksgiving with family...I have a great excuse to eat as much as I want :)
Next appointment: December 5th

13 weeks

 yes, the dreaded bathroom mirror pic this week..Kev was busy today so I had to work with what I had from the other night, I'll forget if I don't do this before the weekend :)

Baby is the size of a: Peach
Gender: Less than 8 weeks till we'll know!
Feeling: Finally getting my energy back which is the best.

Maternity clothes: Loving my maternity leggings, I think I'll keep those around post-pregnancy. I've worn a few shirts too just for fun.
Sleep: Restless..let the middle of the night bathroom trips commence!

Best moment this week: Date night with the hubby, got to take the little one to it's first concert. 
Worst moment this week: Discovering that hot/spicy foods do not sit well with me anymore :( See ya next year jalapenos!

Miss anything: Fountain drinks..a coke with lime sounds so good right now.
Movement: Nothing yet!
Cravings: Adding lemon water to my list, it's so refreshing to me.
Queasy or sick: Twice this week because of the hot/spicy food issue but usually nada.

Baby items I couldn't resist buying: Still holding off as much as possible... but saw the CUTEST little bear sherpa snowsuit at Kohl's the other day, may have to go back for it soon ;)
Looking forward to: North Carolina in 1 week! I'm excited for the last planned girl's trip before the little peanut is here.
Next appointment: December 5th

12 weeks

 

Baby is the size of a: Kiwi
Gender: Most days I'm leaning towards girl.
Feeling: Great!

Maternity clothes: Not yet, low-rise pants seem to be perfect for the time being :)
Sleep: Eh, if you count waking up at 3:30 am starving and completely wide awake a good sleep habit ;) Not too bad though besides that.

Best moment this week: Hearing the little peanut's heartbeat, the best thing ever.
Worst moment this week: Having to officially retire some of my jeans (fingers crossed they can come out of retirement next fall!).

Miss anything: Still a nice, cold Octoberfest after a long day.
Movement: Not that I can feel, but we were able to hear the little one make all sorts of moves while listening to the heartbeat.
Cravings: Bagels with cream cheese, I can't get enough of them.
Queasy or sick: Feeling great still.

Baby items I couldn't resist buying: A surprise gift for the father-to-be! (Yankee related of course.)
Looking forward to: Maternity leggings I ordered from Old Navy, I'm loving comfy clothes right now.
Next appointment: December 5th

11 weeks

Baby is the size of a: Plum
Gender: Not sure yet!
Feeling: Tired, all the time. No nausea though so I can't complain!
Maternity clothes: Not yet..but I did buy a belly band at Target and it's already been put to use ;)
Sleep: Good!

Best moment this week: Finally seeing a bump...it came out of nowhere!
Worst moment this week: Allergies, I'm sick of them already.
Miss anything: Sam Adams Octoberfest beer, one of my favorite things to have during this time of year.
Movement: Nada
Cravings: Chinese food (like I need more sodium in my life?!) and chocolate milk, but not together :)
Queasy or sick: Feeling great!
Baby items I couldn't resist buying: Surprisingly nothing this week, yet ;)
Looking forward to: Hitting the 12 week mark next week, 2nd trimester here I come!
Next appointment: November 7th, can't wait.

SURPRISE!

Our little peanut is expected to arrive May 20th 2014 and we couldn't be more excited! I had a feeling I was pregnant after going out on a Saturday night with Kev for dinner and drinks, but then feeling like I had the flu (times 20!!) the next day. I couldn't stand up for more than 2 minutes without feeling dizzy or nausea. The next couple days I didn't feel as bad but it still lingered. We waited a few weeks and I took 3 tests before calling the doctors, which they asked me to come in that day and I couldn't have been happier to hear them confirm that I was already 4 weeks along! Tomorrow I'll be 11 weeks and the past couple weeks have flown! I can't believe I'll already be in my second trimester next week :) 

The ultrasound pic below was from our 8 week appointment earlier this month. It was amazing to see the heart flutter and finally get to see our little baby. Everything checked out great then and I can't wait till my next appointment next Thursday.

 

We thought starting this blog would be a great way to share our journey with our friends and family. Expect weekly pics and us sharing the rest of our experience!
